Brand Blitz

Every single day we purchase a product or service from a business. Sometimes the business is small and local, while other times it is national or global. These companies are what we call brands in the marketing industry. A brand is made up of different elements that include the name of the business, its logo, colors, mission, and much more. During today’s Brand Blitz, we will be examining a brand that you are probably familiar with, while also imagining what it would be like to build your own brand.

Important Info

  • Everyone will be split into groups

  • Your group will work together on the activities below

  • Use your phone to take notes

  • There will be an adult nearby to help with ideas or questions

  • Work as a team to include everyone in the process

  • Remember this activity requires speed, so don’t get caught up on one one part for too long!

Step 1: Pick a Brand

3 Minutes

Split into groups and choose one of the following brands to find answers to:

Step 2: Break the Brand Down

10 Minutes

Answer the following questions:

  • How did the company get its name?

  • When was it founded, who is the CEO, and where is the company headquartered?

  • What stands out about its website, Instagram, and TikTok?

  • What types of posts or content seem to get the most likes/comments/views?

  • What are the colors and how do they make you feel?

  • Who do you think the company wants to be its customer?

  • What vibe does the brand give off?

  • Do any sounds or visuals catch your attention?

  • How does it make you think or feel?

  • Do any words or taglines stand out to you?

Step 3: Pick Someone to Tell Us What Your Group Learned

Now that you have brainstormed on ideas for your own brand, it’s time to tell everyone else. Pick someone from the group to share a 1-2 minute elevator pitch on what you all came up with.
